Allocation Strategy Status

This article describes the different statuses available on each allocation strategy and the easy color coding associated with it.

Updated over a week ago

Overview

As allocation strategies are calculated there will potentially be strategies that are not in a completed status for various reasons. To highlight the issues to users, we utilize various statuses and associated color codes for easy identification of the problem.

The status of any allocation strategy changes, either as part of the nightly automation or when changes are made to the strategy during the day.

Note that these statuses can be filtered for easy identification of issues.

Allocation Statuses

Ready to Calculate (White)

The ready to calculate status is assigned when all the conditions to run an allocation strategy are configured. This means that an allocation calculation can be attempted. Note that there could still be a failure, if one of the inputs is incorrect.

Requires Inputs (Blue)

This status is assigned when an input required for the allocation calculation is missing, examples may include missing start dates, missing curves or missing demand inputs. By passing the mouse pointer over the affected line, the tool tip will identify the missing inputs.

In Progress (Orange)

The in progress status indicates that the allocation strategy is currently in the queue to be calculated. This status color changes automatically as the strategies complete their calculations to either green or red.

You can also follow the progress of your allocation strategies in the status

Calculated (Green)

On the completion of the allocation strategy calculation, the status should change to calculated if no errors were identified. The green status will remain until either the user runs the strategy again or the overnight automated task executes an update on all eligible allocation strategies.

Failed (Red)

While most issues are identified before allocation strategies run, there is a chance that an allocation strategy could fail for a variety of reasons. These strategies are highlighted with a red mark and a failed status. Using the mouse over the affected line will provide the reason or reasons for the failure.

Filtering Allocation Strategy Statuses

Allocation strategies can be filtered for one or more status for easy identification of issues. Note the status Requires Initial Execution or User Inputs is rare as it will only occur when a new strategy has been created without any inputs. It will appear in with a Blue check mark as well.
