Recommended Transfer Orders - Exporting TOs

Review, edit, and export system-generated transfer orders

Updated this week

Overview

Toolio’s Allocation Module automatically Recommends the optimal Transfer Orders to make sure that each of your sales locations, i.e. destinations, have the right inventory to meet forecasted demand. Recommended Transfer Orders is the screen through which you can review these Transfer Orders (TOs) and export them into CSV or your ERP to action them.

Workflow

1. Accessing Recommended Transfer Orders

Go to Allocation > Recommended Transfer Orders in Toolio.

This page shows system-generated transfer suggestions based on your current strategy.

2. Reviewing & Editing Transfer Orders

By default Toolio generates Transfer Orders for the next 8 weeks. This is good visibility into your future Transfer Orders. However, for most cases, you would only be actioning the Transfer Orders for today. So, you can use Toolio - Today's Transfer Orders that are meant to be shipped out today.

Below are some of the attributes that are available on the Recommended Transfer Orders that will be useful:

  • Source Current Inventory Units - Current on hand at the source

  • Destination Current Inventory Units - Current on hand at the destination

  • In Transit to Place Units - Number of units to transfer

You can edit the In Transit to Place Units manually before exporting on this screen. However, Toolio generally recommends changing your allocation strategies to get to the outcome you need, vs. manually editing In Transit to Place values

3. Exporting Transfer Orders

Right-click anywhere on the RTO screen to open the context menu and choose the export option.

You can:

  • Export as a CSV for manual upload to your ERP.

  • Use direct integration (if your account is configured for it).

🛠️ Export settings and formats can be customized. See our Exporter Configuration Guide for help.

4. Managing and Tracking Transfers

Once a transfer order is exported and processed through your ERP, Toolio tracks it as in transit using the In Transit Units Act metric.

This tracking ensures Toolio won’t recommend the same transfer again, even if the need is still present—helping prevent duplication and keeping inventory data accurate.
