Assortment Plan Defaults

Applying default planning attributes to an assortment

Updated in the last 15 minutes

Overview

Toolio enables users to define reusable default values for choice attributes within an assortment plan.

These defaults are applied at the time of Assortment Creation screen to streamline data entry and ensure consistency. The defaults act as a starting point for planning and can be overridden by imports or user edits as needed. The goal is to reduce the number of clicks that are made at the time of planning.

Check out the following demo of Assortment Plan Defaults:

1. Configuring Assortment Plan Defaults

Assortment Plan Defaults are managed from a dedicated settings screen where users can view, create, edit, and delete default sets.

Users can add a new default set by defining a name and optionally configuring planning parameters.

  • Deleted default sets will not be available for future assortment creation.

Filtering Defaults

  • Users can quick filter the default sets list directly from the settings screen to quickly locate specific configurations.

2. Creating an Assortment with Defaults

When creating a new assortment, users can optionally apply a predefined set of Assortment Plan Defaults.

  • The Create Assortment form includes a Default Attribute Set dropdown.

  • Selecting a default set automatically seeds the assortment with predefined planning parameters.

  • This configuration is optional. If no default set is selected, the assortment is created without prefilled defaults.

3. Applying Assortment Defaults to the choices

  • When a default set is selected, the system applies those defaults when creating new choices across all creation endpoints, including:

    • Style Bank

    • Compare Mode

    • Right-click create actions

Note:

  • If a choice already exists in the assortment:

    • Its attribute values are not changed when defaults are applied.

    • Defaults only apply to newly created choices.
