Overview
Snapshotting in Toolio allows you to save the current state of all metrics within an Assortment Plan, enabling you to reference these values later. This feature is essential for tracking changes over time and comparing different planning scenarios. Some common use cases include:
Tracking Progress: Saving initial sales and inventory projections at the start of a season to compare against actuals as the season progresses.
Scenario Planning: Testing various scenarios—such as different order cycles or assortment choices—and saving how plans roll up under each scenario for future reference.
Workflow
You can create a snapshot either from the Reporting view or the Metrics view. Regardless of where the snapshot is initiated, the process and the data saved are the same.

How It Works
When you create a snapshot, Toolio saves the "Adjustment" version of all metrics for every product across all time periods.
Whether you create the snapshot in the Metrics view or Reporting view, the underlying data and structure remain consistent.
