Every time you save an edit, run a forecast, or change a setting, Toolio records a Change Event so you can see who changed what, when, and why in Change History. Each change event is tagged with an Operation Key that identifies the action that produced it. This article explains what operation keys are, how they show up in Change History, and lists all of them grouped by area.
Use Cases
Understand a Change History entry — Translate an operation key like
UpdatePricesorForecastMFPBudgetsinto the action it represents.Filter the Change Events page — Narrow the log to a specific type of action by filtering on its operation key.
Audit a category of activity — Group related keys (for example, everything under Allocation or Integrations) to review a whole area of changes.
What Is an Operation Key
An Operation Key is a short, stable name for the action that generated a change event. Toolio creates a change event automatically whenever an action successfully changes data in your tenant, and stamps it with the operation key, the user who made the change, a timestamp, and metadata describing what was affected.
Most operation keys are named after the action itself, so they read fairly plainly once you know the pattern:
Keys that start with
Create,Update, orDeleteadd, change, or remove a record (for example,CreateDashboard,UpdateLocation,DeleteScenario).Keys that start with
Asyncrun in the background, typically for larger jobs (for example,AsyncAllocateByStrategy,AsyncForecastChoiceOffering).Keys that start with
Generate,Forecast,Seed, orPopulateproduce or refresh planning data and metrics.A handful of keys are written in
UPPER_SNAKE_CASE(for example,SET_MFP_BUDGETS,BULK_SAVE_CHOICES). These are high-volume save operations that Toolio labels explicitly.
How Operation Keys Appear in Change History
On the Change Events page (Settings > Change History), the operation key is the value you see and filter on for each row. Right-click a row and select Show Change Summary to see a readable breakdown of what the operation changed, or the raw request metadata when no summary is available. The metadata filter lets you combine an operation key with a specific metric or attribute — for example, all SET_MFP_BUDGET_VALUES changes that touched gross_sales_units.
Full List of Change Events
Every operation key belongs to a General Area so you can browse by the part of Toolio it relates to. The complete list is below, grouped by area. It is also maintained as a master spreadsheet.

FAQs
Why do I see an operation key that isn't in the list?
A few older keys are marked Legacy above — they may still appear in historical Change History entries from long-lived tenants, but current Toolio no longer generates them. If you find a key that is missing entirely, it may be a very recent addition; reach out to Toolio support and we'll get it documented.
Do read-only actions create change events?
No. Change events are only recorded when an action actually changes data. Simply viewing a plan, report, or dashboard does not create an entry.
Some keys look almost identical — why?
Toolio sometimes has several closely related actions (for example, GeneratePurchaseOrder and GeneratePurchaseOrders, or single- and multi-scenario variants). Each is a distinct operation, so each has its own key. The explanation column clarifies the difference.
