The Product Summary page answers one question quickly: how is this product actually doing right now? It pulls a single product's inventory, recent sales, size curve, and per-location performance onto one screen, so you don't have to open a plan, apply filters, and build a view just to check on one item.
Product Summary is read-only. Nothing on the page edits your plan, so it is safe to open at any point in your workflow.
You reach it from the command bar with CMD+K (or CTRL+K). See Command Bar for Quick Search for how the command bar works in general.
Use Cases
A store or a partner asks about one product and you need on hand, on order, and recent sell-through in a few seconds.
You want to see which sizes are already sold out before deciding whether to reorder or mark down.
You want to know which doors are carrying the product, which are out of stock, and where the inventory is piling up.
You are reviewing a style and want to compare its colors side by side to see which one is carrying the sales.
Someone flags a product as overstocked and you want to confirm the weeks of supply and the recent sales trend before acting.
How to Open the Product Summary Page
Product Summary is not in the top navigation. You open it from the command bar.
Press
CMD+Kon Mac, orCTRL+Kon Windows, from anywhere in Toolio.Start typing the product's name, style number, or choice ID. Type at least two characters.
Look at the Product section at the bottom of the results.
Press
Enteron the highlighted row, or click the row you want.
The page opens in a new browser tab, so whatever you were working on stays open behind it.
The Product Section
The Product section always sits at the bottom of the command bar results, below Module, Navigation, and Settings. That ordering is deliberate: a saved view you were looking for is never pushed down by a product match.
Two kinds of rows can appear there.
Row | What it does |
A matched product, shown as the product's name followed by its ID | Opens the Product Summary page for that specific style or color. These rows come from a live lookup against your product data as you type. |
| Always offered as a fallback for whatever you typed. Use it when you already know the exact style number or choice ID and it isn't in the suggestions. |
Live suggestions are debounced, so they appear a moment after you stop typing rather than on every keystroke. Up to four matches are shown, and the Search product fallback row stays available below them.
Searching by ID
If you already know the ID, type it and use the Search product row. The page accepts both a style number and a choice ID in the same place, and works out which one you gave it:
A style number such as
100200opens the style, rolled up across every color.A choice ID such as
100200_020opens that single color.
A choice is one style in one color, so a choice ID is how you identify a single color of a product. The page header labels it Choice.
Style Level and Color Level
Product Summary has two levels, and they share one page.
Color level is a single choice, identified by its choice ID. Every number on the page describes just that one color.
Style level rolls the whole style up across all of its colors. The KPI tiles, Weekly Sales, Size Curve, and Locations all show combined totals, and an extra Colors panel appears on the left with one row per color.
You can move between the two levels without going back to the command bar:
On a color page, the style name in the headline is a link. Click it to step up to the style.
On a style page, click any row in the Colors panel to open that color. Colors open in a new tab, so the style page stays where it is for comparison.
On a style page no color is marked as selected, because nothing is selected: you are looking at the whole style. The strongest seller is labelled top in the Colors panel instead.
The Product Header
The band across the top of the page identifies the product and gives you the headline verdict.
On the left is the product image. Click it to open a full-size version, and press Esc to close it.
In the middle you get:
The product title. On a color page the color name follows the style name, so a style page and a color page are easy to tell apart at a glance.
The style number, and on a color page the choice ID as well.
Descriptive attributes pulled from your own product hierarchy, such as department, class, category, season, or brand. These come from your tenant's columns, so the exact set differs between customers.
Sizes, shown as one pill per size. A size with no inventory on hand is greyed out and struck through, so you can see the size break at a glance. Hover a pill to see that size's on hand, units sold in the last four weeks, and on order.
The first and last sale dates, when your product data carries them.
On the right is the headline verdict: an inventory health label, the weeks of supply behind it, units on order, and the return rate. The Inventory Health Labels section below explains how that label is set.
KPI Tiles
The tile strip is the fast read on the product. Every tile is calculated over a trailing eight fiscal week window that ends with the last completed fiscal week, as explained in the How Toolio Calculates These Numbers section below.
Tile | What it shows |
Last Week | Units sold in the most recent completed fiscal week, with the percentage change against the week before it. |
Sold · L4W | Units sold across the last four completed fiscal weeks, with the percentage change against the four weeks before that. |
Return % | Returned units as a percentage of units sold over the window. |
Allowance % | Discount taken as a percentage of gross sales retail plus discount, over the window. This is your realised markdown and discount rate on the product. |
On Hand | Units currently in inventory. The caption also shows ATS, or available to sell, which is on hand plus on order. |
On Order | Units on open purchase orders, not yet received. |
Weeks of Supply | How many weeks the current on hand would last at the recent rate of sale. |
Selling Locations | How many locations carry the product, with the number currently holding stock in the caption. |
Green and red percentages next to Last Week and Sold · L4W are week-over-week and period-over-period comparisons, not comparisons against plan.
Inventory Health Labels
Weeks of supply drives the label in the header and the badge on the Weeks of Supply tile:
Weeks of supply | Header label | Tile badge |
Over 16 weeks | Overstocked | Overstocked |
Over 12 and up to 16 weeks | Watch | Watch |
12 weeks or fewer | On track | Healthy |
These cutoffs are fixed and are the same for every organization. See the FAQs below.
The Colors Panel
The Colors panel appears on style pages only. It ranks the style's colors so you can see where the sales are concentrated.
The first row is an All colors total. Below it, each color shows its image, its name, units sold in the last four weeks, that color's share of the style's last-four-week total, and its weeks of supply. The bar behind each row is a visual read of that same share, and the strongest seller carries a top label.
Click any color row to open its color-level page in a new tab.
Weekly Sales
Weekly Sales charts units sold by fiscal week across the trailing window, labelled FW followed by the fiscal week number. Hover any point to see the units and the calendar date range that fiscal week covers.
Use it to separate a genuine slowdown from a single quiet week, and to see whether a product is building or fading.
Size Curve
Size Curve breaks the product down by size, ordered the way your size attribute is ordered rather than alphabetically.
Column | What it shows |
Size | The size value. |
L4W | Units sold in the last four completed fiscal weeks. |
OH | Units on hand. |
L4W % | That size's share of the product's last-four-week sales. |
OH % | That size's share of the product's on hand. |
OO | Units on order. |
WOS | Weeks of supply for that size. |
Comparing L4W % against OH % is the quickest way to spot a broken size curve: a size selling 30% of the units while holding 8% of the inventory is about to run out, and the reverse means you are sitting on the wrong sizes.
A Total row is pinned at the bottom. The two percentage columns read 100% there by definition, and the totals are the product-level figures, which is why they can differ from a straight sum of the rows above. See the FAQs below.
Locations
Locations shows where the product sits, door by door, and is built to stay usable across a few hundred locations.
Rows are grouped by channel, and each group is collapsed when the page opens. Click a channel to expand it and see its individual locations. The All locations total row is pinned at the top of the grid so it stays visible while you scroll.
Column | What it shows |
Channel | The grouping column. Expand it to see the locations underneath. |
Location | The individual location name. |
Source | Whether the location is a source location or a selling location. |
Locations | How many locations are counted in the row. Useful on the channel and total rows. |
On Hand | Units on hand, summed for channel and total rows. |
Sold · 4 wks | Units sold in the last four completed fiscal weeks, summed for channel and total rows. |
On Order | Units on order, summed for channel and total rows. |
Weeks of Supply | Weeks of supply for that location. |
Use Find location above the grid to filter down to one door or a group of doors by name.
Selecting a block of numeric cells shows the count, sum, average, maximum, and minimum for the selection at the bottom of the grid, the same as in Toolio's other grids.
How Toolio Calculates These Numbers
A few things are worth knowing so the numbers read the way you expect.
The window is eight fiscal weeks, ending last week. Every figure on the page comes from a trailing eight fiscal week window that ends with the last completed fiscal week. The current, in-progress week is deliberately excluded, because a mid-week read would show a misleadingly low number as the latest week.
Sales figures are sums, inventory figures are snapshots. Units sold are added up across the weeks in the window. On hand and on order are taken from the most recent week that reported a value, because they are point-in-time balances rather than things you accumulate.
Weeks of supply uses the recent rate of sale. It is on hand divided by the average weekly units sold over the last four weeks. When a product has inventory but no recent sales the rate of sale is zero, so supply is effectively unlimited and the page shows 52+ rather than a number.
On hand is available to sell. It follows Toolio's available-to-sell definition, which is why the On Hand tile shows ATS, or on hand plus on order, in its caption.
FAQs
Why don't the size rows add up to the Total row?
The Total row is the product-level roll-up, not a sum of the size rows. Each size's on hand is read from the most recent week that size reported inventory, and different sizes can report in different weeks, so adding the rows up would overstate the total. Trust the Total row and the KPI tiles for the product-level number.
Why does Weeks of Supply show 52+?
Because the product has inventory but no sales in the last four weeks. With no rate of sale there is no meaningful number of weeks, so the page caps the display rather than showing an enormous figure.
Can I change the weeks of supply thresholds behind the inventory badge?
No. The Overstocked, Watch, and Healthy cutoffs are fixed at over 16 weeks and over 12 weeks, and they are the same for every organization. They are not configurable per tenant, per department, or per product, so a product that runs healthy at 20 weeks of supply in your business will still read as Overstocked here.
Treat the badge as a consistent way to scan for outliers rather than as a judgement tuned to your business. The weeks of supply number itself is shown next to it, so you can always apply your own cutoff.
Why doesn't Last Week include today's sales?
Last Week is the last completed fiscal week. The week in progress is excluded on purpose, since a partial week would look like a collapse in sales.
Why is a color showing an ID instead of a color name?
Product Summary reads the color name from your product data. If your tenant stores color names on a custom column that isn't mapped, the page falls back to the identifier. Contact Toolio support and we can point it at the right column.
I typed a product name and no suggestions appeared. Why?
Check that you have typed at least two characters, and give it a moment: suggestions are fetched after you stop typing, not on every keystroke. If you know the exact style number or choice ID, use the Search product row instead, which always appears. Live product suggestions can also be turned off for an organization, so contact Toolio support if you never see them.
Does opening a product replace the page I was on?
No. Command bar results and color rows both open in a new browser tab, so your plan stays open where you left it.
Can I edit anything on this page?
No. Product Summary is a read-only view. To change a plan, open the relevant planning module.
