Location Assortment

Translate your cluster-level assortment plan into a location-level view — see which choices are present at each location, filter and group by location attributes, and manage exclusions.

Location Assortment is a view in Assortment Plan that translates your cluster-level assortment into a location-level picture — showing you which choices are present at each location. It includes a grid view and a gallery view, and shares the same datasets you already use in line planning.

You can filter and group by any location attribute, manage exclusions directly from the grid, and use the gallery for a quick visual scan of your assortment by location.

Use Cases

  • You want to see which choices are available at a specific location or set of locations (e.g., all California locations).

  • You want to group your assortment by location and see how choices repeat across locations — similar to how reporting works.

  • You need to add or remove locations from specific choices using Manage Exclusions.

  • You want to visualize your location-level assortment as a gallery before finalizing the line.

Navigating to Location Assortment

  1. Open Assortment Plan from the main navigation.

  2. Select Location Assortment from the top navigation bar.

  3. Choose your dataset and view using the selectors at the top of the page — these are shared across all Assortment Plan views.

Filtering and Grouping by Location

Use the filter bar to narrow your assortment to one or more locations. Locations are searchable and filterable by any location attribute (region, grade, type, etc.).

When you filter or group by location, choices repeat in each location bucket — unlike line planning, where a choice appears once per cluster. This matches the behavior you're used to in reporting.

Group By Location

Select any location attribute in Group By to bucket your assortment by that attribute. Each group shows the distinct choices available in those locations.

What the Grid Shows

The grid shows:

  • Choice attributes (launch date, end date, product attributes)

  • Location attributes

  • Distinct count metrics — count of choices per location, count of locations per choice

There is no metrics panel, rollup, Style Bank, Compare mode, time groups, or Snapshots — the view is scoped to assortment presence at a location level.

Manage Exclusions

Right-clicking a row in the grid opens a context menu with one option: Manage Exclusions. Use this to add or remove locations from the selected choice.

Gallery View

Click the Gallery View toggle to switch to a visual card layout. The gallery shows your assortment as product cards grouped by location — useful for a quick visual scan of what's available where. The gallery uses the same filters and groupings as the grid.

FAQs

How is Location Assortment different from line planning?

Line planning shows choices at the choice or cluster (offering) level. Location Assortment translates that into a location-level view, so you can see which specific locations carry each choice. It is scoped to assortment presence — distinct count metrics only, no planning metrics.

Why don't I see units or sales metrics?

Location Assortment is designed to answer "what choices are at this location?" — financial and unit metrics are planned at the cluster level and are not part of this view. Only distinct count metrics (choices per location, locations per choice) are available.

A location shows no choices. What does that mean?

The location has no assortment data in any cluster. This can happen if the location isn't assigned to a cluster in your current dataset, or if no choices have been planned for that cluster.

Can I edit the grid?

The grid itself is not editable. To make changes to a choice's locations, use Manage Exclusions from the right-click menu, or edit the choice in line planning.
