How to configure Microsoft Azure Integration for Importing and Exporting data

Updated over a week ago

Toolio supports Azure blob storage integration both for importing data into Toolio, as well as exporting Merchandise Plan and Item Plan to Azure. Please find instructions below for setting up the integration.

How to configure Azure Integration

Simply navigate to Toolio > Settings > Integrations, click Add, and select Azure. You will then be prompted to enter the following:

  • Account Name - the name of your Azure Storage Account

  • Account Key - copy/paste the values from Key1 under Access Keys section of your Storage Account

  • Container Name - the name of the container beneath the Storage Account

Importing Data from Azure > Toolio

If you're planning on using the Azure Integration to import data to Toolio, you can simply just drop/upload/transfer files directly into the container defined above. Please ensure that it follows the Toolio file import nomenclature detailed here.

Exporting Data from Toolio > Azure

If you'd like to export data from Toolio > Azure, there are 2 available options:

  1. You host the storage account and define the container

    1. In this case, you need to setup the Azure Integration as outlined above

  2. Toolio hosts the storage account (this can be used as an intermediate step for exports to other solutions if you don't have an Azure account, i.e. BigQuery)

    1. Please reach out to your Customer Success team - the Toolio team will provide an Azure container and account for you to use.

Once the Azure Integration is established via either of the above paths, you can configure an exporter by simply navigating to Settings > Exporters > Add. You can then select Azure from the menu.

From there, you can select the Azure container you'd like to export to, and then configure Source Settings and export Schedule. You can read more about export configuration here.
