Skip Forecast Until lets you pause system forecasting for a specific Choice until a date you pick. While that date is in the future, Toolio keeps the Choice's forecast frozen: no scheduled or manual Forecast run will change it. On the date you set, normal forecasting resumes automatically, with nothing for you to switch back on.
Use Cases
Reach for Skip Forecast Until when a Choice's forecast should stay put for a while:
You have dialed in a Choice's numbers and want them frozen for a few weeks, without having to remember to re-enable forecasting later.
A short-lived or event Choice whose forecast should not move on the weekly reforecast.
You want to keep a stable Choice out of scheduled reforecast runs so those runs focus on items that still need updating.
How Skip Forecast Until Works
Skip Forecast Until is a single date attribute on each Choice. There is no separate on/off checkbox: the date itself is the control.
No date (default): the Choice is forecasted normally by scheduled and manual runs.
Date set: while today is before that date, the Choice is skipped by every forecast run, scheduled and manual alike. No forecast (and no retrend) is applied, so the Choice's System and Adjusted values stay exactly as they are.
Auto-resume: on the date you set, forecasting resumes automatically on the next run. To resume sooner, clear the date or move it earlier.
❗ While a Choice is skipped, a manual right-click `Forecast` also has no effect on it. That is expected: the skip applies to every forecast run, not just the scheduled ones.
Setting a Skip Forecast Until Date
Open the Choice Plan view for your Assortment Plan.
Find the
Skip Forecast Untilcolumn. If it is not visible, add it from the column chooser.In the Choice's
Skip Forecast Untilcell, enter or pick the date you want forecasting to resume, thenSave.To set it on several Choices at once, select the Choices, right-click, and use Bulk Update Choices.
To stop skipping, clear the date (or set an earlier one). Forecasting resumes on the next run.

FAQs
What is the difference between Skip Forecast Until and Lock Forecast?
Lock Forecast still forecasts the Choice on every run and refreshes its System values; it only stops your Adjusted (planner-facing) values from being overwritten. Skip Forecast Until skips the Choice from forecasting entirely for the window you set, so nothing recalculates, System or Adjusted. Reach for Lock Forecast when you want the system to keep refreshing while protecting your manual edits, and for Skip Forecast Until when you want a Choice's forecast frozen completely for a period. When does forecasting resume?
On the date you set. Before that date the Choice is skipped; on that date, the next scheduled or manual Forecast run includes the Choice again.
Can I still run a manual forecast on a skipped Choice?
No. While Skip Forecast Until is in the future, both scheduled and manual Forecast runs skip the Choice, so a right-click Forecast will not change it.
What happens to my forecast values while a Choice is skipped?
They stay frozen. Because no forecast is calculated, the Choice's System and Adjusted Gross Sales values remain exactly as they were before you set the date.
Does skipping forecasting also stop receipts?
No. Skip Forecast Until only pauses forecasting. Generate Receipts and the inventory projection are separate functions and still run for the Choice, using its current (frozen) forecast.
Does this pause Retrend too?
Yes. While Skip Forecast Until is active, retrend is also skipped for that Choice, so its forecast stays fully frozen. Retrend resumes automatically when forecasting does. The Disable Retrend checkbox remains available as a separate, standalone control, described in In-Season Retrending.
